6. Modifying Homework Assignments

6.1 Modifying a "New" Homework Assignment

Any homework that has its release date later than the current date is placed in the New status. A homework in the New mode means that this homework is not available to students yet. All parameters and problems of a new homework assignment can be modified.

Step 1. Select the Child Homework button to open the homework main menu as shown below.

The Status of homework HW2 - Fractions 1 shows as in New mode.

Step 2. Select the Update after the homework (HW2: Fractions 1) to modify. The homework status page appears as below.

Step 3. Modify the homework by adding new projects to it. Click on the Add new project button to open the project list menu.

Click to select a grade (F-5) and also the category (C-5 Fractions) The new project list appears as below.

Step 4. Add new projects and define their parameters.

Click on the underlined Project Name to select it (ex. project No. 5.). Type values to set the two parameters as below:

Number of Problems: 5
Passing Score: 80%

Click on the Add button to add the project to the homework.
Repeat the same procedure to add project 6 to the homework. Use the same parameter values.

The six projects are included in the homework assigned as shown next.

Click to close the project list window.

Step 5. To delete a project (ex. project No. 3) from the homework assignment click on the underlined Delete in the Delete column across from the cancelled homework. Click Delete in the project No. 3 row (Equivalent Fractions). Select OK to the prompt "Are you sure you want to delete the project?"

The project has been removed from the homework as shown below.

You can change the Release date, Due date, Due date type, or Description as you want. Refer to the previous section's modify instructions.

If you change the Release Date to today's date, the project will automatically become active.

Step 6. Click on the Publish button to release the homework. Select OK to the prompt "Are you sure you want to publish the updated homework?"

You must have at least one project in the homework to publish. If you have decided to cancel this homework after it has been published previously, you will need to have one project in the homework. To completely cancel the homework you need to set the date to today's date (Active) and then set its status to Passive.
